Wednesday, November 19, 2008 "ON TIME"
5:26 pm est Have you ever looked up at an airport monitor to find the word, "Delayed", beside your flight number? It is really frustrating. Plans are messed up. People who were to pick you up are waiting. It just ruins the whole day as you wait for your flight. There have been times in my life that I thought God had a timing problem. This economy thing seems to be happening at a bad time. Holly being a full time mom comes just when it seems we are headed in the right direction. Cody couldn't come on staff now. Bad timing? Joseph, son of Jacob, probably had some times when he looked up at God's monitor expecting to see, "Delayed", but instead it read, "On Time". Joseph was in prison having been falsely accused of raping Mrs. Potiphar. He stayed faithful to God throughout the whole ordeal. One day two prisoners came under his charge who had been servants in Pharaoh's court. One was the cupbearer and the other was the baker. They had dreams that Joseph interpreted. The cupbearer had a favorable dream and the baker lost his head. Joseph told the cupbearer to remember him to Pharaoh when he was restored to his position. The cupbearer forgot. Joseph stayed in prison two more years. Joseph thought surely the sign would read, "Delayed", but instead it read, "On Time". God's timing was just right to save a nation from starvation and preserve the linage of the Christ. God's timing is sometimes inconvenient for us but just right for His purposes. God's monitor
always reads, "On Time". God says trust me and be patient. |
